IMPELLERS
IMPELLERS
Each impeller is designed to match process conditions: fluid viscosity, slurry density, shear sensitivity, and gas dispersion requirements.
Designs deliver optimal flow, tank turnover, and velocity gradients, ensuring reliable, efficient mixing.
Mixtec impellers are available in a wide range of materials including, but not limited to; stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, titanium, and exotic alloys. Protective linings and coatings such as rubber, GRP, epoxy, Halar, and Nordbak extend durability in aggressive environments.

Some of the most commercially successful impellers are high efficiency hydrofoil (general applications, leaching, CIP/CIL), high gas rate hydrofoil (BIOX, cyanide destruction / detox), rushton turbine (autoclave / POX, HPAL), pumper impellers (solvent extraction), draft tube systems (wet process phosphoric acid, draft tube crystallisers), anti-ragging impellers (wastewater treatment) and many others.
Impellers for every Industry
Water treatment and waste water treatment
This radial flow impeller is based on the design of the Curved Blade Turbine and includes an anti-vortex/anti-ragging disc that stabilizes operation and reduces fouling around the shaft and hub. It is well-suited for wastewater, anoxic, and anaerobic applications where reliable mixing and minimal downtime are required.
Designed specifically for flow-sensitive duties, this second-generation hydrofoil impeller delivers precise and efficient mixing with minimal shear. Its advanced blade geometry ensures uniform blending and rapid dissolution while protecting delicate floc structures commonly found in wastewater treatment processes. With low power requirements and excellent hydraulic efficiency, it is ideal for applications such as floc trains and chemical make-ups where consistent flow and gentle mixing are critical.
Engineered for ragging-prone applications, this impeller offers high performance and reliability. Back-swept hydrofoil blades reduce fouling and power consumption, while the inclusion of the discs reduces fouling of rags etc. Ideal for demanding wastewater environments, including anoxic and anaerobic chambers.
Industrial/Chemical
The original “axial flow” impeller was widely used prior to the introduction of hydrofoil designs in the 1980s. Generating a combination of axial and radial flow, it is particularly effective when positioned closer to the tank floor, providing excellent scouring and mixing of tank contents. This impeller is especially well-suited for higher viscosity products, making it a reliable choice for industrial and chemical processes that require thorough agitation and suspension.
Designed for general mixing applications, this impeller excels in handling viscous slurries, scrubbers, and light gas dispersion tasks. Its effectiveness ensures high flow down the tube, creating a rising velocity in the tank annulus that suspends tank contents for uniform mixing. Available in 3- and 4-blade configurations, it offers flexibility to optimize performance for a wide range of industrial and chemical processes.
Specifically engineered for industrial blending and chemical make-up processes, this second-generation hydrofoil impeller delivers precise, efficient mixing with minimal shear. Its advanced blade design ensures rapid and uniform dissolution of additives while protecting sensitive materials and maintaining consistent flow. With low power consumption and high hydraulic efficiency, it is ideal for tanks and systems where gentle yet effective mixing is critical to product quality and process reliability.

Reliable performance ensures consistent results, making it a preferred choice for sugar processing operations.
Widely recognised as the original gas dispersion impeller, the Rushton Turbine is ideal for high shear applications in the mining industry. Its central disc prevents gas short-circuiting up the shaft, forcing gas bubbles beneath the impeller into the blades of the main flow pattern to maximise gas holdup. Renowned for its simplicity and dependability for high-speed service, the impeller remains a reliable choice for mixing processes requiring efficient gas dispersion and robust mixing performance.
This impeller is most commonly used as a primary pump impeller in solvent extraction processes within the mining industry. Engineered for reliable and efficient fluid handling, it delivers high hydraulic flow and control performance in demanding extraction operations, supporting top productivity and process reliability.
This impeller is specifically designed for high-volume gas dispersion and solid/liquid suspension applications in the chemical, food, and wastewater industries. It provides strong pumping capabilities with improved gas holdup and shear control through its multi-blade, flat disc design while the hub “closes” off fluid recirculation for processes that demand high performance and reliable operation.
