1970s

While Mixtec was officially established in the 1980s,  its founders Timothy Clamp and William Baguley, had been involved in the agitator industry from 1975. Recognizing a valuable opportunity, they went on to establish a specialized company that would cater to the agitator market. 

1980s

Mixtec was officially founded in 1984 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Starting from its modest origins on Evans Street, Alrode, the company quickly outgrew its initial premises. A notable achievement came in 1988 when Mixertech was established in England to cater for the UK market.  By leveraging the combined resources of our sister companies,  Mixertech could guarantee unmatched process technology, mixer selection and bespoke manufacturing for its customers.

1990s

During the 1990’s Mixtec experienced unprecedented growth. In 1992 Mixtec South Africa moved to their current premises in Fleming Road, Meadowdale. In 1997 Mixtec expanded into the Asia Pacific market, opening its operations in Malaysia.  1998 was a big year with further international milestones as Mixtec launched in New Zealand and in the same year, Mixtec Solutions was established in Western Australia to revolutionize the Australian market. Closing off the decade, Mixtec North America was formed in 1999 to service the USA and Canadian markets. These calculated expansions played a pivotal role in solidifying Mixtec’s position in the global market.

2000s

During the 2000s, Mixtec continued with the positive trajectory of strategic expansion efforts. In 2001, Mixtec expanded the agent network to include Mauritius. Five years later, in 2005, Mixtec took another tactical step by expanding into the South American Market, establishing a branch in Chile, providing a foothold in the region and opening opportunities for further global  market penetration.

2010s

In 2012, Mixtec embarked on another significant global expansion, extending the reach into Europe while simultaneously establishing a strong presence in select Northern African countries.  This strategic move enabled Mixtec to enhance overall competitive positioning, build stronger relationships, and seize new business opportunities in the region.
